Windows Live Search – new picture every day
I use Live Search. I use Google Search too. I’ve never really used Yahoo! Search. For me, this search engine thing has started in 90’s with Altavista. It was great for me at that time. But nowadays I stick with Google and lately, more and more with Live Search. What I really like about Windows Live Search (besides results) is great looking homepage.
I am pragmatic when I am using search engines. I need results to be relevant; I like them to be presented in clean manner, easily accessible and to have somewhat aesthetically pleasing reflection on me while I am using the search engine. After all, we are all there for some relevant results.
But I tend to give more attention to visual appearance, complete user experience. That being said, I don’t think that I am putting form in front of function, I just think that both are extremely important and I would have very hard time deciding what can win my vote. In that sense, there is one neat detail I really absolutely like about Live Search – its homepage.
Simple, minimalistic but with vivid and mind-boggling images featured every day. Hover your mouse over different parts of that image and you will get search suggestions. Honestly, I’ve been finding myself using Live Search more and more and every morning I turn on my computer back at home or at work I like making my first searches on Live Search and enjoying new views.
Live Search sometimes features pictures that are connected to current events (elections for example) or some natural wonders, interesting places, vegetation, animals…
